WSWA Las Vegas: April 2rd - April 5th, 2012

Cefalicchio is, first of all, an agricultural company devoted to the production and manufacturing of high-quality organic agricultural products. The company is currently run by Fabrizio Rossi, an agronomist with longstanding experience in the application of bio-dynamic techniques in agriculture, as well as in the related procedures of quality control.

The changeover to a bio-dynamic method of agriculture took place in 1992. Ever since then Cefalicchio has pledged itself to establishing an environment-friendly activity that works in total harmony with its natural surroundings, a sustainable entity in the broadest sense of the term.

It is in this environment that our wines and our extra-virgin olive oil are created. Wines made exclusively from our bio-dynamic grapes and olive oil exclusively obtained from our estate grown olives, whose primary aim is to express the combination of climate and soil from which they derive; to be "authentic"._

___ Podere Casale is a beautiful sight to visit.

The Estate is situated in the center of Vicobarone, a small pleasant village of Val Tidone in the Province of Piacenza.

The road climbs for few chilometers from the Padana plain and gently winds through the hills covered by vineyards.

In the IX Century, Vicobarone belonged to the Monestary of St Colombano in Bobbio. It is well known that the monks were valid farmers and Vicobarone was their chosen site for the cultivation of the first vineyards from which they produced wines for their trade.

At the beginning of the XVII Century, the Castle of Vicobarone was transformed by the owners - Marchesi Malvicini Fontana - into a noble palace with ample and well-kept cellars.



Vinja Barde: Vitovska | Booth #804

The winery is located in Bagnoli della Rosandra, at the edges of the Rosandra Valley, just some kilometers outside Trieste. The winery was built from the ground up, matching style and technology, trying to suit both winemaking requirements and aesthetic needs. Vinja Barde conducts guided tastings, various eno-gastronomical and cultural events.

The winery used temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for the maturation of young wines, such as Vitovska, or oak barrels in their barrique cellar, to age  Refosco and the white blend 'Matos Nonet'.
